My experience with Quixotic was one to remember for a lifetime and hopefully one that can happen again before too long. It was my first long term experience in Kansas City, Missouri, which is where Quixotic has been for their 10 years of existence. I was fortunate enough to spend many hours in the studio doing classical ballet, power yoga, aerial lyra, trapeze, and hoop dance training.
My time spent in Kansas City and with Quixotic helped me gain more insight to what my future might be as a dancer with them. By working with their graphic design, light projection specialist from Spain, I discovered that working with light projection mapping is truly something I would like to experiment with more. I was also able to connect with the city’s community through my performances with Quixotic at Union Station, the Children’s Science Museum, and Ameristar Hotel and Casino.
This 15 day study abroad experience has armed me with helpful information of how to travel smart, how Quixotic runs their studio, and what opportunities Kansas City would have to offer if I decide to move there and pursue a dance career with them.
